BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – Sophomore Rylie Spaulding leads OBU's lineup in a tie for 13th after the opening round of the 2024 Great American Conference Championship in Broken Arrow, Okla.
Spaulding shot a 6-over 78 to begin play at the league's end-of-the-year tournament. A 2-over finish on the front nine highlighted her round.
As a squad, the Bison fired 35 strokes over par and sit in sixth. Henderson State guides the 10-team field after shooting 6-over par, while Southwestern Oklahoma State (+15) and Arkansas Tech (+17) completed the top three teams.
Morgan Becker is in a tie for 21st after firing 8-over par, which featured a team-high of three birdies.
Morgan Simmons and Gimena Errecart are tied for 26th and 33rd, respectively, after shooting rounds of 81 (+9) and 84 (+12). Simmons sunk two birdies, the second most on the team today.
Josefina Serres Scheffer rounded out the Bison's participants in a tie of 46th, following a 16-over 88.
Oklahoma Baptist returns tomorrow for round two of the GAC Championship.
