Lissade Chosen as GAC Player of the Week

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – As Oklahoma Baptist played a doubleheader on March 5, the Great American Conference announced that senior second baseman Isiah Lissade was named Player of the Week for his efforts from Feb. 27 through March 2.

It's his first career honor.

Last week, OBU went 2-2 with wins over No. 8-ranked Missouri Southern and Northwestern Oklahoma State. In those four contests, Lissade batted a team-high .688 with 11 hits and 10 runs scored.

During the 20-10 victory over the Lions, he hit for the cycle and became the school's first player to do so in the Division II era (2016-pres.). Lissade also posted a 3-for-3 effort with four runs scored and three RBI during the team's 17-4 triumph against the Rangers on March 2.

By week's end, Lissade registered a 1.250 slugging mark, an on-base percentage of .762 and finished with one double, a triple and three homers. Defensively, he also notched 11 putouts, eight assists and a fielding mark of .950.

This season, Lissade is the GAC leader in hits (34), batting average (.436) and runs scored (25). The Elk Grove, Ca., native is also fourth in OPS (1.244) and sixth with 14 walks.
