GREENWOOD, Ind. – For the third straight year, Oklahoma Baptist's baseball program placed five student-athletes on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team.
Those players were
Tui Amosa,
Kody Bialas,
Zane Bennett,
Matt Marsic and
Logan Wade.
To qualify, a student-athlete had to have a 3.50 grade point average or higher, been of sophomore standing and have legitimate playing credentials. Here's a look at OBU's award winners:
Amosa (1): Exercise Science. All-GAC First Team, NCBWA & ABCA All-Region; Had six, top-10 GAC statistical marks including ranking second with a .407 batting average and 20 doubles.
Bialas (1); Mechanical Engineering; All-GAC Honorable Mention; Notched a staff-best 3.18 ERA, struck out 41 and limited opponents to a .207 average.
Bennett (2); Mass Communications; Ranked third on the team with 37 RBI and added 10 doubles and five homers.
Marsic (2); Sports & Recreation; Hit .386 – second-best on OBU – and tallied 54 hits, 39 runs scored and a team-high three triples.
Wade (1); Business Management; Led the Bison staff with five wins and two saves. He also struck out 41, third-most on the team.
