PITTSBURG, Kan. – Carson Kardokus, Sean Dixon, Emmett Murphy, and Maxamillian Wheeler headlined OBU's efforts at the 9th Annual Indoor Gorilla Classic as the quartet broke the 12-year-old Bison Distance Medley Relay record.Â
They finished the event in an NCAA Provisional time of 9:52.10, good for fifth place. It is the 20th fastest time in the nation. The previous record of 9:56.52 was set by Jory Custar, Justin Frye, Cody Camacho, and Adam Godwin in 2012.
In the 4x400 relay, OBU ran a season-best 3:15.33. The time earned Dixon, Jentezen Smith, Marcus Petersen, and Murphy a sixth-place finish.Â
Maxamillian Wheeler clocked a personal-best 4:09.28 in the mile, which placed 10th and met the DII provisional standard. Trailing in 16th was Kardokus at a personal-best 4:12.50.
Jentezen Smith charted a PR of 1:13.16 in the 600-yard run for sixth place, while Nathan Goodson placed seventh in the high jump (1.85m, 6-0.75).Â
