BARTLESVILLE, Okla. – Gimena Errecart paced the Oklahoma Baptist lineup with an even-72 through the opening round of the NCAA Central Region Preview at the Hillcrest Country Club. The Bison posted a 22-over 310 to tie for eighth alongside Great American Conference foe Arkansas Tech.
Errecart's trip through the links featured four birdies, all sunk on the back nine. After firing 1-over par on the front nine, Errecart posted a team-best 1-under par on the turn to tie for sixth of 99 participants.
Freshman Morgan Simmons carded a 4-over 76, good for a tie at 24th. Simmons' round was highlighted by a tie of the squad's best score in the front nine (+1), where she shot even-par through the first seven holes.
In a tie for 43rd was Morgan Becker, whose 7-over 79 included one birdie on hole 16. Becker cut her strokes by three on the turn after finishing 5-over on the front nine.
Rounding out the Bison's scorers was Sam Lehr's 11-over 83, which sits in a tie for 70th. Josefina Serres Scheffer and Ramsey Gunter, the lone individual, are in ties for 89th and 94th heading into tomorrow's final round.
Oklahoma Baptist looks to climb the leaderboard with a fresh set of 18 holes ahead on Tuesday.
