Bison Ninth After Two Rounds in Texas

SPRING, Texas – Oklahoma Baptist returned to the golf course for its first spring season tournament on Monday, participating in the Central Oklahoma Southern Invite.

Following 36 holes of action, the OBU golf team sits in ninth place among a 14-team field.

Morgan Becker paces the Bison lineup in a tie for eighth overall after shooting two-over par through rounds one and two. Starting on the back nine, Becker shot par on four holes, including a birdie on hole 17. She recorded two more birdies on the front nine before turning in a three-over 75 in round one. Then Becker posted the best second-round of any Bison, featuring 14 straight pars to finish one-under par.

Josie Patterson carded an eight-over 76, highlighted by a team-high in birdies (5) for a tie at 28th. After shooting three-over through the first nine, Patterson shot one-over 37 on the turn for a first-round 76 (+4). She matched the score in the second.

Hayden Meiser is tied for 48th, while Rylie Spaulding sits in 61st. Meiser charted three birdies en route to a round-one 78 (+6) before shooting seven-over her second time around. Spaulding followed her opening-round 79 (+7) with a nine-over 81.

Rounding out the individual leaderboards for the Bison are Lindyn Ross in 70th and Karlee Holcomb in a tie for 75th.
