PITTSBURG, Kan. – The Oklahoma Baptist men's and women's track and field teams notched four top-10 finishes on the final day of Pittsburg State's Gorilla Classic.
Trey Bartholomew and Jonathan Elix led the men's action with seventh and ninth-place finishes in the high jump invite. The duo both cleared 2.05m (6' 8.75").
In the triple jump, Jai Moore landed a PR of 13.42m (44' 0.25"), while Alexander Schovanec took 14th overall in the shot put with a 15.29m mark.
Anthony Phillips placed 13th in the pole vault with the highest clearance (4.72,m 15" 5.75") of any Bison this season. Rounding out the men's action was Karson Kardokus' 4:12.98 mile, the second-fastest mark for OBU thus far.
The 4x400 relay squad of Jax Holland, Jentezen Smith, Marcus Petersen, and Isaiah Willis claimed sixth with an NCAA DII provisional qualifying time of 3:15.10.
For the women, Sophia Strange took seventh in the mile, easily meeting the NCAA provisional with a PR 17:10.53. The feat comes a day after she set a personal best in the 5000m (17:10.53).
Emily Julian placed 13th in the pole vault invite (3.63m, 11'10.75"), while Anisha Henderson finished 15th in the triple jump (10.95, 35' 11").
Oklahoma Baptist will travel to Texas Tech for the Jarvis Scott Open next Friday.
