Pruitt Lands on Another All-America List

CARY, N.C. – The postseason accolades continued to roll in for Oklahoma Baptist first baseman Dan Pruitt. On Friday night, the ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. II All-America Teams were released with Pruitt earning First Team accolades.

He is only the second Bison in the D2 era to garner first-team recognition by a major publication. In 2019, Hector Ruvalacaba was an NCBWA All-America First Team honoree.

Pruitt's 2022 season ranks among the best by a Bison slugger ever. His accolades include:
GAC Player of the Year, All-GAC First Team, All-GAC Defensive Team, D2CCA Second Team All-America, D2CCA All-Central Region First Team and NCBWA All-Region Second Team.

His stat line is equally impressive. The Oklahoma City native's 24 home runs tied a school record and were fifth-most in the country. He also hit .390 and attained a .909 slugging mark, the second-best total in the nation and highest total by a Bison player in the D2 era.

Furthermore, he recorded 15 doubles, led the GAC with five triples and 170 total bases, and ranked near the top of the GAC in stolen bases (17), runs scored (70) and on-base percentage (.506).

Pruitt also tied OBU single-game records when he collected five hits and three bombs during an April 29 home win against Southern Nazarene.

The American Baseball Coaches Association, founded in 1945, is the primary professional organization for baseball coaches at the amateur level. Its over 13,000 members represent all 50 states and 25 countries.
