RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Oklahoma Baptist first baseman
Dan Pruitt was selected as the Great American Conference Player of the Week on Monday after helping lead the Bison to a 4-0 record a week ago.
It is his second honor this season.
In games against Emporia State and a three-game home stand versus Southern Nazarene, Pruitt posted these numbers: a .588 batting average, a 1.294 slugging mark, three homers, a double, a triple, 14 RBI and eight runs scored.
His best performance came in the opener against SNU, a 20-6 Bison win. He tied a pair of OBU D2 single-game records with five hits and three homers, boosting his season total to 22 bombs.
This year, Pruitt is fourth in the nation in homers, 11th in RBI (66) and ranks second in slugging (.909). Those three marks are at the top of the GAC as well.
Pruitt and the rest of the Bison will next return to action on May 7 against Harding in the GAC Tournament at Majestic Park in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
