Ford Named to D2CCA All-Region Team

SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist outfielder Reagan Ford has been named to the D2CCA Softball All-Central Region Second Team, the D2CCA committee announced on Wednesday afternoon.

Ford is the first Bison since 2019 to earn an All-Region nod, as Franki Hull was named to the Second Team that season. Additionally, she was one of eight players from the Great American Conference to represent the 2022 teams.

Arkansas Tech led the way with three honorees, Harding garnered two, and Southeastern wrapped up the list with a single selection.

This is the latest on the sophomore's list of career-firsts, following an All-GAC First-Team selection a week ago.

This season, Ford led the Bison in hitting with a .367 batting average, which ranked in the top-15 of the conference. She tallied 44 hits and 15 RBIs with a slugging percentage of .433.

Ford's 18 stolen bases ranked fourth in the GAC and was significant improvement from her 2021 total of four. Furthermore, she was one of four players in the league to steal three bases in a single game.

The Sutter, Calif., native found her groove in the back end of the season, following a five-hit series against NWOSU that put her batting average over .300.

Ford's best game came against Arkansas-Monticello, where she went 3-4 at the plate and stole two bases. After an outstanding performance in game one, Ford tallied three more hits to finish the series, batting .600, and stole another base.
