RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Jake Hamilton was named Great American Conference Co-Pitcher of the Week on Monday after a lights-out performance against Arkansas-Monticello a couple days ago.
It is Hamilton's first honor as well as the first accolade for a Bison pitcher this season.
During a 5-0, game-three win at Monticello, Hamilton tossed a complete-game shutout, fanned six batters and gave up just three hits. Plus, of the 25 batters he faced, only two reached scoring position over the course of the seven-inning game.
Hamilton has come into a late-season groove for the Bison. Over his last two appearances spanning 11 innings, he has struck out 16 and boosted his season total to 52, third-most for OBU.
