OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – The Oklahoma Baptist women's golf team improved their first round score by 10 strokes, shooting a final round 317 to place 10th out of 15 teams at the Diffee Ford Lincoln Invitational on Tuesday afternoon.
Sophomore
Valentina Nunez-Butzonitch jumped six spots from yesterday, landing in a tie for 36th after shooting six-over 77, five strokes better than Monday. Nunez-Butzonitch's front nine run featured a four-stroke improvement from yesterday, including a birdie on hole six. She shot two-over on the back nine to tie for the best finish on the team through the series of holes.
Hayden Meiser turned in a closing 79 (+8), good for a tie at 40th. Meiser birdied on the final hole of the back nine and went par on five of her concluding holes. Freshman
Karlee Holcomb shot a final round 78 (+3), fueled by her two-over finish over the back nine, to finish tied at 44th.
Josie Patterson rounds off the Bison in the top-50, carding an 83 (+12) to land a 46th placing, while
Lindyn Ross finished right outside in a tie for 55th. Ross shot 84 (+13) while
Rylei Gunter earned a tie for 65th after her final round 87.
Abby Boren (73rd),
Izzy Lette (74th), and
Kailee McCrary (82nd) registered the remaining spots on the individual leaderboard for Oklahoma Baptist.
OBU will continue their spring season on Sunday as they'll travel to Destin, Florida for a three-day stay at the Emerald Coast Collegiate Classic.
