TROPHY CLUB, Texas – The Oklahoma Baptist women's golf team is in eighth place after Monday's action at the Texas A&M Commerce Lion Invitational on the Hogan Course.
Play was halted today, as three golfers, including
Valentina Nunez-Butzonitch, did not finish their second round of work. Nunez-Butzonitch ranks in a tie for 48th overall after shooting 16-over in the first round and 10-over before being stopped on her final hole of the second round.
Freshman
Karlee Holcomb paces the Bison lineup in a tie at No. 7 through two rounds, highlighted by five birdies that ranks second among all participants. On the second 18, Holcomb registered three birdies, including two on the front nine.
Holcomb added one more on the back nine before making par on holes 11 and 12 to complete her round six-over. She earned the other two birdies in the first round before concluding the round five-over 72.
Hayden Meiser is tied at 24th after opening the event with an 81 and 80. Meiser cut her score by one stroke in the second round, highlighted by three birdies. She finished the back nine two-over before completing the front none six-over.
Josie Patterson and
Lindyn Ross rounded up today's lineup, as they are in 40th and 48th. Patterson's 81 in the first round was her best of the day while Ross' 82 was her leading score.
The Bison will be back tomorrow to conclude play in the final round of the event.
