Buell Named GAC Setter of the Week

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Oklahoma Baptist senior Kaylee Buell was selected as the Great American Conference's Setter of the Week on Monday after her performances in three matches at the UT-Tyler Dakota's Patriot Classic. For Buell, it is her first career honor.
 
OBU went 3-0 during the Classic and moved its record to 6-1.
 
In victories over St. Edward's, Ferris State and West Alabama, Buell amassed 91 assists, averaged 10.11 per set and also contributed 3.11 digs per set. Her best performance came versus SEU when she notched 35 assists in the 3-0 win over the Hilltoppers.
 
Through seven matches, Buell has totaled 232 assists and became one of only six Bison players to surpass 1,000 career assists in the NCAA Division II era. She also ranks fourth in the GAC in assists per set (9.4).
 
Buell and the rest of the Bison squad next play on Thursday, Sept. 16 when they visit GAC opponent Southwestern Oklahoma State at 7 p.m.
