Four Bison Named CSC Academic All-District

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Oklahoma Baptist University's Karsyn Hunter, Emily Boyer, Rylee Unruh and Melody Donegan were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Volleyball team this week.

This is the fourth straight season that multiple Bison were recognized for the honor. To qualify, a student-athlete had to have possessed at least a 3.50 grade point average, been of sophomore standing and have legitimate playing credentials.

Hunter, a libero from Forney, Texas who studies communications is now a two-time recipient of the honor. During the fall, she was an All-GAC Honorable Mention selection. Hunter ranked fifth in the conference with a 5.23 digs-per-set average. Her best performance was a record-setter, attaining a school-record 61 digs during the five-set battle with Ouachita on Nov. 21 in the GAC Tournament semifinals.

Boyer, a nursing major from Choctaw, earned her first CSC award this fall. During the Bison's 22-10 season and GAC Tournament Championship, she ranked fifth in the GAC in assists (769) and averaged 6.75 per set. Boyer also was the GAC leader and established a new OBU single-season benchmark with a whopping 55 service aces. Her best performance of the year was also in the Nov. 21 semifinal with Ouachita when Boyer dished out 49 assists.

Unruh, who is also a nursing major, hails from Lawrence, Kansas. This award is also her first. The All-GAC First Team selection and GAC Tournament MVP was instrumental in OBU's fine 2025 campaign. She ranked third in the league in kills (377) and aces (50) and finished second in points per set (4.09). Unruh posted 15 double-doubles, had a season-best 23 kills with 24 digs at East Central (11/13).

Donegan, a sophomore biology major, played in a career-high 29 matches with seven starts this fall. The Inola, Okla., native reached double-digit kill totals in five matches including a season-high 14 against Northwestern Oklahoma State on Nov. 11. Against Southeastern on Oct. 30, Donegan posted 10 kills on 15 swings and hit a whopping .600. Defensively, she had a season-best four block assists at Harding on Oct. 10.
