AVCA Slots Bison Ninth in Preseason Poll

LEXINGTON, Ky. – For the first time in the NCAA Division II era, the Oklahoma Baptist volleyball program found itself ranked in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Preseason Poll. OBU checked in at No. 9 in the initial ranking.

The top-ten ranking comes after a spring season in which coach Anna Howle's team went undefeated (18-0), won the Great American Conference Championship and earned the No. 1 ranking in the country on April 14.

OBU was the highest-ranked GAC team with Harding checking in at No. 19.

Competition for the Bison begins next weekend at the Ferris State University Invitational in Big Rapids, Michigan. That invite will feature a few OBU opponents that are either ranked or receiving votes by the AVCA, including Hillsdale College (13th), Winona State University (RV) and Davenport University (RV).
