ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Division II Conference Commissioners Association and the American Baseball Coaches Association announced their 2021 All-Central Region Teams with OBU senior second baseman
Hector Ruvalcaba named to the Second Team on both lists. Ruvalcaba was also recently named to National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association's All-Central Region Team.
Ruvalcaba, a native of Tulare, California, joined the Bison in 2020, having transferred from Bakersfield Community College. The 2020 season was put on hold due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, but Ruvalcaba made his presence known scoring 16 runs, 10 RBIs, and was tied for fourth on the team in batting average with a .346.
In his senior season he ascended to the top of the Bison offense, notching a batting average of .405 during the regular season. He also led the Bison in home runs with 14 and RBIs with 44.
