LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Oklahoma Baptist volleyball team set a new mark in its program's history as they earned their first national ranking from the American Volleyball Coaches Association since joining NCAA Division II, checking in at No. 23.
The defending Great American Conference champions currently sit at 2-0 so far this season, earning a pair of sweeps. The Bison defeated Southeastern Oklahoma State in their opener at home before earning a 3-0 win in Alva over Northwestern Oklahoma State, a team receiving votes in the poll.
Malia Leatherland leads the offense with 5.0 kills per set and 1.0 service aces, while
Taneyah Brown adds 4.3 kills.
Kaylee Buell adds 11.0 assists per.
Defensively,
Diana Carranza averages 7.0 digs per set while
Kelsi Chavez checks in with 4.67.
Jenna West adds 2.0 block per set while
Audrey Poupard adds 1.0 per set.
