Bison Set for RMAC Championships

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The Oklahoma Baptist men's and women's swimming and diving teams are set for the 2021 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships beginning Wednesday, Feb. 17. Defending champion Colorado Mesa will host the four-day event at the El-Pomar Natatorium in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the RMAC Athletic Administrators' and Presidents' Councils approved a proposal to prohibit fan attendance at the event.

The RMAC has committed to free live streaming of all men's and women's events during the four days of competition.

OBU enters the competition having already secured two NCAA B-cuts. Women's diver Cassidy Wright picked up the first in the one meter dive, and men's swimmer Estavo Hornos, earned the second in the 50-yard freestyle.

Last year the Bison men finished fourth overall with a team score of 619.50 and the women finished sixth with a score of 399.

"We're super excited about competing at the RMAC Championships," said OBU head coach Matt Hood. "The weather has created some difficulties for travel, but it hasn't gotten our spirits down."

Competition begins at 9 a.m. local time (10 a.m. CT) Wednesday morning with the women's 200 IM and 50 free prelims, with men's competition slated to start around noon (1 p.m. CT). For a complete schedule of events, as well as live video and results, click the links above or visit RMACsports.com.
