ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Oklahoma Baptist men's and women's swimming and diving teams closed out the regular season in a dual meet at Henderson State Friday. The Bison women won 191-94, taking nine of the 16 events. The men, however, were not able to overcome a slow start, falling to the Red Wave 164-115.

On the women's side the Bison swept the relays.
Camila Alduenda,
Anna Tindall,
Jamie Edwards, and
Julie Day took the 200 yard medley with a time of 1:51.67.
Lyndsey Brueckner,
Megan Gallagher,
Jamie Edwards, and Day won the 200 yard freestyle, beating out HSU by 9.51 seconds.

The Bison women also chalked up seven other individual wins, including
Chase Kirby (100 yard breast stroke), Gallagher (50 yard freestyle), Alduenda (200 yard backstroke), Tindall (200 yard breaststroke),
Anya Macphail (500 yard freestyle), Edwards (100 yard butterfly), and
Emma Jorgensen (200 yard IM).

On the men's side,
Alfredo Arrieche and
Alexander Yanchunas posted a pair of wins in the distance events, taking first in the 500 yard freestyle (4:57.22), and the 1,000 yard freestyle (10:21.83), respectively.

Anna Kathleen Harris led the Bison in the dive events. She posted a 202.43 in the one meter dive and 208.28 in the three meter dive.

"We were a little slow getting going at the start but did a really great job stepping up the second half," said OBU head coach
Matt Hood.

The Bison now look ahead to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championship which is set for Wednesday, Feb. 17 through Saturday, Feb. 20 in Grand Junction, Colorado.
