Four Bison Make Conference Honor Roll

SHAWNEE – Four players from Oklahoma Baptist's men's tennis team qualified for the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association 2019-2020 Academic Honor Roll. Qualifications included having a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and having at least two terms of attendance at their respective university.

Bruno Suiama, Kaey-Den Tan, and Aaron Brewer, along with senior Andres Graterol, found themselves among 45 student athletes around the MIAA to secure a spot on the list.

"These four are exceptionally well-rounded individuals," said OBU head coach Jason Proctor. "Their passion for what they do and their self-discipline is what makes them successful both on and off the court."

Proctor's message of success in the classroom is internalized throughout his entire squad. The women won the Team Academic Award at OBU's annual Bison Sports Awards earlier this month with an average GPA of 3.66.

"[This honor is] a reflection of our collective effort as a program to keep perspective on what OBU tennis is about: excellence in academics and athletics, and most importantly, glorifying Christ in those pursuits," said Proctor.
