SHAWNEE – The Oklahoma Baptist men's tennis team has split its last four contests as they sit at 4-4. Breaking the deadlock will be North Dakota when they come to Bison Hill Friday, March 6 at 1 p.m.
North Dakota, as part of the Summit League, will be the third Division I opponent OBU has faced this year, with the first two matches against Southern Methodist and Texas-Arlington opening the 2020 fall season. OBU's
Matias Le Fort saw a singles victory against SMU's Juan Jose Bianchi 7-6, 0-6, 11-9.
This matchup will mark the first time these two programs have met. The Fighting Hawks come in to the match at 7-2 and winners of their last seven as they sit atop their conference.
Without Bruno Siuama for an indefinite amount of time, the Bison are 2-1 in his absence. Senior
Gianlucca Galdi has been red-hot for OBU, having won all three of his single matches during that time while only giving up one set. Galdi is 4-3 on the season, having missed one match due to injury.
Galdi and doubles partner
Aaron Brewer have also seen success, winning three of the duo's last four matches. The tandem is 4-4 overall.
Le Fort is also 4-3 in the season. The Senior from Sao Paulo, Brazil was held out of singles play in the Bison's last match due to an injury he suffered during the doubles draw.
OBU's attempt to get above .500 begins at 1 p.m. at the OBU Tennis Complex. For live updates on all the Bison's matches, as well as the latest OBU tennis news, follow the team's official Twitter account (
