Women's Tennis Hosts Eagles in Spring Season Opener

SHAWNEE – The Oklahoma Baptist women's tennis team opens its 2020 spring season with a home match against Texas A&M-Texarkana on Saturday, Feb. 8. First serve is set for 11 a.m. at the OBU tennis complex. This will be the first meeting between the two programs.

Last year, TAMUT went 0-2-1, including a 5-0 loss to Henderson State of the Great American Conference. OBU defeated Henderson State 6-1 in the regular season and 4-0 in the GAC Tournament.

The Bison come into the season led by All-American Kim Moosbacher. A senior from Cologne, Germany, Moosbacher has not lost a singles match in nine straight contests dating back to April of last year.

OBU enters Saturday's matchup having won five of its last seven regular season matches. Bison senior Tahlia Walsh is 6-1 in her singles matches in that time span.

Along with Moosbacher and Walsh, OBU returns four other players from last year's squad, while four new players will make their debuts Saturday against the Eagles.
