SHAWNEE – The Oklahoma Baptist baseball team moved up in the National College Baseball Writers national polls to 16
th. Last week the Bison cracked the top 25 for the first time since moving up to Division II, debuting at 24
th. OBU is coming off a sweep of Northwestern Oklahoma State. The Bison defeated the Rangers 7-1 on Friday Feb. 21 and then capped off the sweep with 14-10 and 12-7 performances on Saturday Feb. 22.
In the first game
Jake Lipetzky pitched an incredible nine inning game, posting a season-best .111 ERA.
Kaimana Bartolome led the Bison offense posting eight more RBIs, giving him a season total to 30. He also leads the team with 20 runs.
The Bison stand atop the Great American Conference having gone 6-0 in conference play. The team will hit the road and head to Arkadelphia, Arkansas, for a weekend conference series against Henderson State beginning Friday, Feb. 28.
