SHAWNEE - The 2-2 Oklahoma Baptist women's tennis team heads to Springfield, Missouri, this weekend to take on Drury University and Newman in a back-to-back Friday and Saturday. The Bison are coming off a 5-2 home victory over Missouri Western St.
Last year's heart-breaking 4-3 loss to Drury will be on OBU's mind as they seek out their first win ever against the Panthers. Drury is currently 3-1 and coming off a 6-1 win against Nebraska-Kearney.
Newman is 2-3 in the 2020 season (5-5 overall) including a 4-1 loss to the Bison's latest victim, Missouri Western St.
OBU's last meeting against Newman came in 2017 when the Bison handled the Jets for an 8-1 win. Current Bison and All-American
Kim Moosbacher saw a singles and doubles victory that day.
Moosbacher is 3-1 in singles play this season at No. 1. Boasting the same singles record is sophomore transfer
Hanna Zubkova at the No. 4 slot.
The Drury match will begin at 8 p.m. on Friday while the Newman match begins at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
