SHAWNEE – After starting the season with an 8-2 record, and coming off a dominating sweep of conference rival Southeastern over the weekend, the Oklahoma Baptist baseball team is ranked 24
th in the country by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. This is the first time since moving up to NCAA Division II the baseball team has been nationally ranked.
Â
The Bison made NCAA regionals in their first two years in Division II. In 2018 OBU made it to the NCAA Central Regional and fell to Central Missouri and Central Oklahoma. In 2019 The Bison bested their 2018 record, going 35-21. OBU then won the Great American Conference Tournament and made it all the way to the final round of the 2019 Central Regional.
Â
The Bison are currently fourth in the Central Regional poll and on a four-game win streak. They will look to continue the streak as they welcome Northwestern Oklahoma State to Shawnee this weekend for a three-game series with first pitch coming at 6 p.m. on Friday Feb. 21.
