GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - The Oklahoma Baptist women's swimming and diving team kicked off the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships at El Pomar Natatorium as they sit in fourth place overall after a short first day.
Things started with a bang in the preliminaries alone as
Julie Day placed third overall in the 50 free. Day had a time of 24.01 to slot herself third and place herself in the final later that night, but more impressively Day earned an NCAA B-Cut with her early morning swim. Day ended up placing sixth in the 50 Yard Freestyle final with a time of 24.06.
The Bison relay team rounded out the day in terms of top finishes as
Kaelyn Lance,
Juliana Cifuentes,
Jamie Edwards, and Day placed third in the 200 Medley Relay Final with a time of 1:45.61.
Cassidy Wright placed fourth in diving with a score of 375.25.
Day two of competition will begin at 9:30 a.m. with events all day such as the 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, and the men's 1-meter dive.
