Three Bison Bestowed With Preseason Honors

SHAWNEE – Three Bison earn Collegiate Baseball Newspaper preseason honors. Raul Rizo was selected as CBN's Newcomer to Watch, Eric Carlson was named CBN's Central Region Player to Watch and senior catcher Ramon Enriquez was selected as CBN's Central Region All-American. 
 
Bison catcher Enriquez comes into 2020 having delivered an All-American performance in 2019. He scored a total of 63 runs, 14 of which were home runs. Enriquez put up 71 hits over the course of 2019 and batted in 71 runners. He also caught every pitch in the 2019 season. 
 
Rizo joined the Bison in the 2019 offseason. He attended Long Beach State for his first three years. He will join a loaded pitching staff led by Jake Lipetzky. 
 
Carlson enters his senior year having delivered a strong outing in 2019. He finished with a .323 batting average, while putting up a total of 38 runs with 14 being home runs. Carlson batted in 63 runners on 65 hits. 
 
The team as whole was also selected as seventh in the central region. The season opener is set for Friday, Jan. 31 as the Bison take on Missouri Western in a three game series.
