RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - The Oklahoma Baptist softball team was selected to finish 11th in the Great American Conference this upcoming season as voted on by the GAC coaches on Wednesday morning.
OBU will open the season in Las Vegas on Friday, January 31st as they will take on Regis and Texas-Tyler at the Vegas Desert Stinger. OBU will spend the first month of the season away from home in Las Vegas, Lubbock, Edmond, Oklahoma City, and Alva before finally opening the year at home on February 28th against Henderson State.
Southern Arkansas was selected as the conference favorite with 10 first place votes followed by Arkansas Tech in second and Harding in third, who each received one first place vote. Southeastern Oklahoma State was picked to finished fourth while Southern Nazarene was selected fifth.
East Central, Henderson State, and Southwestern Oklahoma State followed in sixth, seventh, and eighth followed by Arkansas-Monticello and Ouachita in ninth and 10th place. Oklahoma Baptist was just ahead of Northwestern Oklahoma State for 11th going into the new year.Â

Sam Maples enters her second year. The Bison will welcome many new faces on the field this upcoming season.
