GAC Tournament Holds Moosbacher’s Third Win

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - Oklahoma Baptist got their first taste of GAC play at the GAC Tournament in Russellville over the weekend. OBU saw 26 total matches won: 14 for the men and 12 for the women, including one title claimed for the women. And you may have heard of her in Kim Moosbacher.

It was a trifecta for the German as she won her third straight Flight 1 singles draw title in three tournaments. Moosbacher won her final match 6-4, 6-2.

Freshman Andrea Sanchez, Moosbacher's teammate, saw her best finish in her young OBU career, reaching the Finals in the Flight 5 draw.

For the men, two Bison won consolation titles: Aaron Brewer in the Flight 2 singles and Gianlucca Galdi/Bruno Suiama in the Flight 1 doubles draw as they won each match in the backdraw 6-4.

In Flight 3 singles, Rhett Rollins and Matias Le-Fort both reached the semifinals along with Matthew Ford and Kaey-Den Tan reaching the semifinals in the Flight 4 draw. This was the second straight semifinal bid for Kaey-Den, who reached the semis at the Midwestern State Invitational.

Three successful tournaments for the Oklahoma Baptist Bison. Up next is the first in-state tournament for OBU with the ITA Fall Regionals in OKC October 4-6.
