RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Oklahoma Baptist volleyball team was picked to finish seventh in the Great American Conference this season.

The volleyball team start their season on the road at the Loper Preseason Invite in Kearney, Nebraska. The Bison will take on Augustana and Adams State on Sept. 6 and will close out the invite against Nebraska-Kearney and Findlay on Sept. 7.

The Bison will open at home on Sept. 20 with the Bison Invitational.

Southwestern Oklahoma State is picked to win the GAC title with 109 total points, which include three first-place votes. Harding, the defending GAC champions, comes in a close second with 106 total points, which include four first-place votes. Henderson State rounds out the closely contested top three with a 105 overall point total, which also includes four first place votes.

Arkansas Tech was voted fourth with 95 overall points and has the final first place vote. Ouachita Baptist and Southern Nazarene follow in fifth and sixth place, respectively, just ahead of the Bison.

Northwestern Oklahoma State, Southeastern Oklahoma State, Southern Arkansas, Arkansas-Monticello, and East Central round out the standings respectively.

OBU is coming off a 16-17 record in 2018, in which they went 9-7 in conference play.
