Albertus Barber has signed a minor league contract with the Philadelphia Phillies organization as a free agent.

A 6-1 righty from Tulsa, Barber went 5-3 for the Bison in 2018, striking out 63 over 60.1 inning pitched.

He fanned a career-best 11 batters in 7.2 innings against Southern Arkansas in a matchup on March 2 and was an integral part of a pitching staff that earned OBU its first NCAA Regional appearance.

Elsewhere for the Bison, infielder Yariel Gonzalez was promoted to Double-A Springfield by the St. Louis Cardinals. Playing primarily at first base, the Puerto Rico native was hitting .260 with 56 hits and 21 RBI through 57 games at A (Advanced) Palm Beach.

In two games since joining the Cardinals, Gonzalez is batting .333, with an on-base percentage of .778 and slugging percentage of .444.
