COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Oklahoma Baptist opened its women's tennis season with a 5-2 road loss at Metro State–Denver. The match came one day after OBU lost an exhibition match to Division I Air Force, 7-0.
OBU's doubles team of Madeleine Boepple and Kim Moosbacher got the lone doubles victory at the No 1 spot beating MSU-Denver, 6-4. Moosbacher also contributed to the point total with a singles win at No. 1 along with Alex Bowers at No. 3.
Tahlia Walsh at No. 4 recovered from her 6-0 first-set loss with a 6-1 second-set win before dropping the third, 6-1.
OBU's next match will be Feb. 9 against Washburn University. The two teams will meet at Oklahoma City Tennis Center in a neutral site matchup. The Lady Bison were 6-3 winners over the Washburn in last year's meeting
