TAHLEQUAH -- Oklahoma Baptist was beaten 4-3 by Northeastern State in a women's tennis match Friday in Tahlequah. The match featured the same two teams that made the NCAA Central Region Championship last year.
Â
OBU was unable to pick up any match wins in doubles allowing NSU the early 1-0 lead. OBU's
Kim Moosbacher got her revenge against Tatjana Stoll from the doubles match with a three-set win at the number one singles, 6-4, 4-6, 7-5. Â OBU's
Tahlia Walsh and
Madeleine Boepple both got singles victories as well for the Lady Bison.
Â
With needing just one more victory to seal the match,
Alex Bowers tried to give OBU the win but fell 7-5 after pushing the match into the third set. Due to time constraints, the five and six singles were changed to an eight-game pro set. NSU won both.
Â
OBU's next tennis will be against Kansas Wesleyan. The match originally scheduled for Shawnee has moved to the University of Oklahoma Indoor Tennis Center because of rain forecasted for the area. Start time is at 3 p.m.
