Shawnee Invitational Moves to Thursday

SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist starts swimming and diving season Thursday at the Shawnee Invitational downtown, weather-permitting, at Shawnee Splash Park at 3 p.m. The Invite was originally scheduled for Friday, but forecasts of thunderstorms Friday forced the switch.

The Lady Bison placed fifth last year at the NCAA Division II Championships and returns All-Americans Genesis Veliz, Victoria Fonville, Julie Day and Marizel Van Jaarsveld and honorable mention All-American Miriam Avila.

OBU competes Thursday in the unscored event with Barton County Community College, Oklahoma Christian, Tabor, University of the Ozarks and St. Mary (Kansas).
