SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist volleyball heads to Daytona Beach, Florida, to take part in the Bahama House Labor Day Classic hosted by Embry-Riddle. The Lady Bison are set to take on Bentley at 8 a.m. before facing Eckerd College at 2 p.m.
 
The Lady Bison dropped a 3-0 decision in the home opener on Tuesday against Central Oklahoma, and now sit at 2-3 on the season. The team currently sits at 2-1 in neutral site contests in 2018.
 
Mikayla Watson paces the OBU offense at 3.00 kills per set, followed closely by Malia Leatherland with 2.47 kills/set. They've received the bulk of their service from Jenna Gremmel, who is currently averaging 7.88 assists per set, including a 28-assist performance against the Bronchos earlier in the week. As a team, OBU is averaging 11.19 kills/set.
 
On the defensive side of the floor, Delayna Mills leads the way on the backline at 4.31 digs per set. Her 27 digs on Tuesday night stand as the most in the three-set match in the Great American Conference in the early part of the season. Brecken Roquemore paces the Lady Bison with .71 blocks per set.
 
Bentley (0-2) has dealt with a slow start to their season, averaging just 9.25 kills/set while opponents are averaging 11.75 kills/set while hitting .223. Dani Miller leads the Falcons at 3.00 kills/set, while Xio Lopp and Krista Campbell share duties at setter with 7.25 and 6.25 assists/set, respectively. Emily Barthelmes leads the back row at 3.38 digs/set, and Lopp owns a team-best .75 blocks/set. It is the first all-time meeting between OBU and Bentley.
 
Eckerd College (2-2) are averaging 14.12 kills/set, paced by a three-headed attack in Abbie O'Ferrell (3.89 kills/set), Asya Harris (3.45) and Paula Hoffman (3.39) off the service of Fernanda Reis who has 11.12 assists/set. The defense has limited opponents to 11.38 kills/set thanks to the defense of Arielle Erillo with 5.25 digs/set.
