Hearn Dominating for Altoona

SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist baseball alum Taylor Hearn continues to tear through Eastern League batting orders, posting a 0.75 earned run average in his two starts for the Altoona Curve since his All-Star game start.
 
The 6-4 lefty struck out nine over six scoreless innings Monday against Reading and lowered his earned run average to 3.03 for the season and 2.08 over the last 10 games.
 
Hearn is in his second full season with the Pittsburgh Pirates organization and is ranked as Pittsburgh's No. 9 prospect. He has piled up 105 strikeouts in 98 innings this season. Opponents are hitting .194 against him.
