SHAWNEE – Four Oklahoma Baptist University baseball players were selected for inclusion on the 2018 Division II Collegiate Commissioners Association All-Region team, it was announced Friday.

Jake Gozzo earned the distinction of First Team outfielder, while catcher
Juan Gonzalez, third baseman
Zane Gelphman and outfielder
Brett Berghammer were Second Team picks.

Gozzo, a junior from Redland, California, was a First Team All-Great American Conference selection and is hitting .337 with 12 home runs and 46 RBIs.

Gelphman, a senior from Half Moon Bay, California, is batting .335 with 17 home runs and 55 runs batted in. He also was a Second Team All-GAC selection.

Gonzalez, a senior from Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, checks in at .349 with seven home runs and 33 RBIs. He was a unanimous First Team All-Conference honoree.

Berghammer, a senior from Half Moon Bay, California, earned First Team All-Great American Conference and was a GAC Gold Glove center fielder. He is batting .377 and was the GAC regular season batting champion.

Gozzo, Gelphman and Gonzalez also were NCBWA All-Region honorees.

The Bison are competing this weekend at the Central Region Tournament as the No. 7 seed.
