Bison to Meet Ranked Foes in Missouri

SHAWNEE – After playing 19th-ranked Washburn, the road doesn't get much easier as the Bison travel to Springfield, Missouri, this Friday to take on the 13th-ranked Drury Panthers before taking on Lindenwood University on Saturday. The Bison head to Springfield after dropping a hard-fought decision to the Ichabods in Oklahoma City, 5-4.

Drury entered the season ranked 13th according to the ITA Division II rankings and, similar to the Bison, are favorites to win their conference. The Panthers won their season opener against Washburn, 6-3, and are off to a 4-0 start, with their most recent victory coming against Nebraska-Kearney, 5-4.

The Bison's opponent on Saturday, the Lindenwood Lions, came into the year ranked sixth in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Coaches Poll. The Lions enter Saturday's matchup with a 1-0 record after defeating William Jewell College, 8-1.

The last time OBU was in Springfield, junior Lucas Castelo Branco made it to the semifinals in the singles draw at the ITA Central Regional Championships and senior Daniel Aguilera made it to the Sweet 16. The doubles tandem of Castelo Branco and Aguilera made their way into the Sweet 16 in the doubles draw as well.
