OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma Baptist opened the season with a 6-3 win over Washburn Saturday.

Doubles wasn't friendly to the Lady Bison, as their Nos. 1 and 2 doubles team both lost with scores of 6-2, 6-3 and 6-3, 6-2, respectively. The sole doubles team winner for the Lady Bison was

Alex Bowers as they defeated Washburn's Aly Burr/Madison Lysaught 8-3.

Singles was a different story. Out of all six singles players for OBU, five of them found the winner's circle.

Alex Bowers,
Madeleine Boepple, and
Caroline Abbe picked up wins.

Boepple had an especially emotional a hard fought victory as she was battling through two different injuries she suffered during the match. She went on to beat Madison Lysaught, 6-3, 7-6 (7-4).

OBU now heads to Springfield, Missouri, where they meet Drury Friday and Lindenwood Saturday.Â
