Lady Bison Place Nine on All-GAC Teams

SHAWNEE – A pair of Shawnee natives led the way as Oklahoma Baptist placed a conference-best nine on the all-Great American Conference teams on Wednesday night. The honors were announced at the GAC awards banquet ahead of the GAC Tournament which is scheduled to begin tomorrow with a pair of semifinal matches.
 
Head coach Mike White, after leading OBU to the only perfect conference record in GAC history at 12-0, took home Coach of the Year honors for the second straight season. In his last two years at the helm, White has led OBU to a 21-0-3 record against GAC opponents in the regular season.
 
Jennifer Goethe, a senior from Shawnee, took home Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight year, and was also one of five unanimous All-GAC First Team selections. She directed a backline that posted a GAC-best nine clean sheets, and also chipped in with a goal and four assists on the year. This is the third consecutive year for Goethe to be named to the all-conference squad, and the second straight year to be named to the first team.
 
Ruth King, a junior also from Shawnee, claimed Offensive Player of the Year honors for the first time in her career after bagging a team-high 13 goals and supplying seven assists. King, a unanimous selection, has been named to the All-GAC First Team each of her three years on Bison Hill.
 
Emmily Infante, a senior from Mexico City, Mexico, was a unanimous All-GAC First Team selection for the second straight year. The midfielder had two goals and four assists in her final season in the Green and Gold. It's the second All-GAC honor of her career.
 
Kerregan Edwards, a senior out of McKinney, Texas, took home All-GAC First Team honors for the first time in her career. The defensive midfielder had six goals and five assists on the season, and was named GAC Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 16. Edwards was an All-GAC honorable mention the last two years.
 
Lara Haring-Lovett, a junior hailing from Norman, was named to the All-GAC First Team for a second straight year. Haring-Lovett partnered with Goethe on the backline, allowing a miserly 15 goals through 18 matches. This is the third straight season for Haring-Lovett to be named to an All-GAC roster.
 
Emily Griffith, a redshirt sophomore goalkeeper from Parker, Colorado, was OBU's final unanimous All-GAC First Team selection. Griffith led the GAC with a .96 goals-against average while boasting a .800 save percentage. It's the second time in her career to be named to the All-GAC First Team.
 
Hannah White, a sophomore out of Norman, was an All-GAC Second Team selection as a midfielder. White started all 18 matches this season, contributing six goals and five assists. She was also named to the All-GAC Second Team last year as a freshman.
 
Kelsey Bumgarner, a junior defender from Mustang, also picked up All-GAC Second Team honors. She helped OBU post nine clean sheets on the year, and also scored one goal. It's the first all-conference honor for Bumgarner since being honorable mention All-GAC in her freshman campaign.
 
Reagan Mann, a junior hailing from Denton, Texas, was named All-GAC honorable mention. The midfielder scored three goals and had two assists. It's the second time has received honorable mention status, and the first time since her freshman year.
 
Oklahoma Baptist takes on No. 4-seeded Ouachita Baptist at 6 p.m. in the second semifinal match tomorrow at the OBU Soccer Complex.
