RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – In the last action of 2018 for Oklahoma Baptist, the Lady Bison earned a singles title and a doubles title at the GAC Individual Championship this past weekend.

In singles,
Alex Bowers won the Flight 3 championship, defeating Harding's Hana Folse 7-6, 3-6, 11-9 in the finals in her sole three-set match of the tournament. Along the way, she defeated Henderson State's Lorish Puluspene 6-1, 6-0 and Arkansas Tech's Kami Ward 6-3, 6-2.

Stefy Varon made the finals in Flight 6 before losing to Southern Arkansas' Brenda Teixeira 6-1, 3-6, 10-8. Freshman Landry Johnson made her way to the semis of Flight 7 with a three-set victory over HSU's Jaci Ammons and Ouachita Baptist's Shirley Hernandez.

Several Lady Bison had quite the presence in the consolation brackets, as
Madeleine Boepple,
Ethne Dowling, and
Jacqueline Charvat all made their respective consolation finals, with Boepple and Charvat claiming the consolation title in Flight 4 and 7, respectively.

In doubles, Lady Bison duo Boepple and
Kim Moosbacher stampeded their way to the title in their Flight, winning their three matches by a combined score 18-5. The victims were Southeastern's Shiaelis/Budnik, Arkansas Tech's Ward/Rowlands, and Harding's Cox/Takanashi.

Varon made her second final of the tournament with partner
Tahlia Walsh by defeating Arkansas Tech's Long/Harris 7-5 and Southern Arkansas' Simas/Teixeira 6-1 before falling to Arkansas Tech's Sanchez/Drebka 6-2.
