OBU Meets GAC Foes in Weekend Tourney

SHAWNEE – After a great weekend in OKC at the Oklahoma City Collegiate Open, where Gianlucca Galdi and Lady Bison's Kim Moosbacher walked away with singles titles, OBU Tennis hits the road for Russellville, Arkansas for the GAC Individual Tournament September 22nd – 24th.

With OBU being a part of the Great American Conference (GAC), this will be their first taste of conference play of the 2017-2018 season as all the teams which will be represented are in the GAC. Last year OBU's men's team won the conference championship, going 3-0 in conference play, with the Lady Bison getting 2nd on the women's side with a 4-1 conference record. After a strong outing in OKC, hopes are high for this weekend and beyond.

Moosbacher, looking to capitalize off her singles title in OKC, will begin her weekend on Friday, Sept 22nd in the quarterfinals as she has a first round bye in the Women's Flight 1 Singles bracket. She will play the winner of Harding University's Laura Golubic vs. Henderson State's Annie Shannon in her first match.

Kateryna Shkot will represent the Lady Bison in Flight 2, and she as well will start her weekend off in the quarterfinals, awaiting the winner of Kami Ward from Arkansas Tech University vs. Noelia Gomez from Southern Nazarene University.

In Flight 3 of the women's singles, Tahlia Walsh will play Harding University's Arisa Takanashi.
