McPherson Joins Saltdogs

SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist All-American Carson McPherson signed with the Lincoln (Nebraska) Saltdogs of the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball.
 
He pitched a scoreless inning of relief Sunday in his professional debut, with Lincoln beating Gary 11-6.
 
Taylor Hearn is 4-5 this season with a 4.60 earned run average for the Bradenton Marauders, the Advanced A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. He has 74 strikeouts in 60.2 innings.
 
Julian Merryweather is 3-0 since moving up to Cleveland's AAA team, the Columbus Clippers. Merryweather has a 4.50 ERA with 22 strikeouts in 26 innings. He is 7-2 with a 3.76 ERA overall this season.
 
Matthew Page of the Potomac Nationals (Advanced A, Washington Nationals) is batting .300 with two home runs and seven RBI in 29 games. He has six doubles and is slugging .433.
 
Nathan Thompson has been assigned to the Houston Astros' Class A Short Season Tri-City ValleyCats and has not yet played.
