SHAWNEE – The Bison tennis team of Oklahoma Baptist opens action as the second seed at the NCCAA Men's Tennis Championship in Mobile, Alabama, Tuesday.

OBU opens with No. 3 Warner at 8:30 a.m. and then faces No. 5 Dallas Baptist at 2:30 p.m. Pool play concludes at 8:30 a.m., Wednesday, with the Bison taking on No. 6 Cedarville.

The Bison come into the tournament at 21-5 and on a 10-match win streak.

OBU's probable singles lineup includes
Kevin Andrusch (20-3),
Lucas Castelo Branco (16-8),
Luis Romero (10-5),
Gianluca Galdi (18-3),
Matias Le Fort (14-8) and
Thomas Ackerknecht (15-8).

In doubles, Ackerknecht/Romero are 19-3, Andrusch/Galdi are 7-3 and Castelo Branco/Le Fort are 6-3.

Warner, the defending national champion, is 9-7 on the season and the Royals have won two of their last three matches.

Dallas Baptist, which lost to the Bison 5-0 in the Central Region Tournament, is 13-9.

Cedarville stands at 12-11 and has won four of its last five matches. Matt Brumbaugh leads the Yellow Jackets at 13-10 in singles with Ryan Shomo at 11-11 and Joel Clark at 10-10. Clark and Shomo are a formidable tandem with a 12-2 doubles record. OBU scored a 5-0 win over Cedarville in last year's national tournament.

The other two teams in the tournament field are No. 1 Campbellsville (20-3) and No. 4 Judson (23-7). Campbellsville knocked the Bison out of last year's tournament in the semifinals, 5-3.
