Bison Claim Region Crown

ABILENE, Texas – Oklahoma Baptist captured the NCCAA Central Region crown and the automatic berth to the national tournament with a 5-0 win over Colorado Christian Saturday.
 
The Bison play in Mobile, Alabama, May 9-12 in the national tournament.
 
OBU took a 3-0 lead after doubles. Kevin Andrusch and Gianluca Galdi won 8-2, Matia Le Fort and Lucas Castelo Branco won 8-0 and Thomas Ackerknecht and Ian Sims claimed an 8-3 win.
 
Castelo Branco scored a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles to put OBU ahead 5-0 and the match ended with four singles matches left after senior Thomas Ackerknecht put away Barrett Cooper, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 singles.
