SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist wraps up the season at the Great American Conference Women's Golf Championship, beginning Sunday.
Â
The provisional status of OBU in the conference prevents the Lady Bison from competing as a team in the tournament, so each player will appear as an individual. OBU finished fifth in the GAC Preview in the fall, and would have placed fourth in the 2016 GAC Championship had they been allowed to count their scores.
Â
Competition will end Tuesday in the three-round event, with one round played each day. All rounds will take place on the Park Course at Hot Springs Country Club in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The par-72 course is 5706 yards long from the white tees.
Â
Michelle Carr will look to build off her recent success, as three of her last five rounds have been below 80. She won a dual against Southwestern Christian at Shawnee Country Club on March 31.
Â
Sophomore
Shannen Stewart has improved all year, lowering her scoring average by over three strokes from the first semester to the second.
Elly Baze paced the Lady Bison at the Central Region Spring Preview, finishing T35 in a very strong field after posting a 161 (80, 81).
Â
Senior
Emma Williams will appear in her last tournament for OBU. She has two top-20 finishes this year as the only senior in the top five.
Paige Neidy is expected to make her fifth consecutive start of the spring, and had a top-10 finish in the dual against Southwestern Christian.
