SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist opens its first ever Great American Conference Men's Tennis Tournament Friday at 9 a.m. against Harding.

The tournament, hosted in Bentonville, Arkansas, takes place at Memorial Park Tennis Complex.

In the other match, Southeastern Oklahoma State takes on Ouachita Baptist. The winner from Friday meet at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, for the championship.

OBU finished 3-0 in the GAC and is 16-5 overall to take the No. 1 seed. Southeastern (10-7 overall and 1-2 in the GAC), Ouachita Baptist (4-13 and 1-2) and Harding (9-8, 1-2) all tied at 1-2 and were seeded, based on tiebreakers, Nos. 2-4, respectively.

Kevin Andrusch is 16-3,
Lucas Castelo Branco is 14-7,
Luis Romero is 9-5,
Matias Le Fort is 14-6,
Gianluca Galdi is 16-3 and
Thomas Ackerknecht is 11-8. Also,

Ian Sims is 3-1 and
Michael Vetter was 0-1 before having his senior season ended by injury.

In doubles, Ackerknecht and Romero have a 17-3 mark this season. Castelo Branco has a dozen wins, Galdi has 12, Le Fort has 10, Andrusch has eight, Atturu has seven and Sims has one.
