SEARCY, Ark. – Oklahoma Baptist finished off the Great American Conference schedule with a 7-2 win at Harding Saturday.
Rouxanne Janse van Rensburg and
Kim Moosbacher held off a strong challenge at No. 1 doubles, 9-7, and
Olivia Charvat and
Madeleine Boepple scored an 8-4 win at No. 2 to give OBU a 2-1 lead heading into singles.
Janse van Rensburg made quick work of Piper Huey at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-1, and
Kim Moosbacher was done early at No. 3 singles, leading 6-4, 4-1 before her opponent retired.
Alex Bowers clinched the win at No. 5 singles with a 6-4, 6-0 victory. Boepple and
Caroline Abbe also produced straight set victories at Nos. 4 and 6, respectively.
With her win at No. 1 singles, Janse van Rensburg tied Anastasia Baranova's 2015 wins total at that slot with her 18
th win there this season. Boepple will get a chance to tie her own record at No. 4 singles after notching her 15
th win there Saturday.
Moosbacher (19 wins at No. 3) and Bowers (18 wins at No. 5) already have season records. Moosbacher has the best chance of reaching
Kateryna Shkot's record 23 singles wins from last year.
With the win, the Lady Bison wrap up second place in the GAC at 4-1, while improving to 19-3 on the season.
The Lady Bison wrap up the regular season with a 2 p.m. Senior Day match against Seminole State College Tuesday, April 25. In addition to bidding adieu to seniors
