Lady Bison Face Weekend Road Trip

EMPORIA, Kan. – Lady Bison tennis resumes play this weekend in Kansas, taking on Emporia State and Newman University on Friday and Saturday.
 
Emporia State (6-4, 3-3 MIAA) has dropped notable matches to Central Oklahoma, Harding and Southwest Baptist. Tawni Griffey sits 16^th in the central region and holds the only ranking from ESU. The match is set to begin at 1:30p.m. on Friday in Emporia.
 
Newman (4-11, 0-2 Heartland) holds losses to Midwestern State, Arkansas-Fort Smith- whom OBU swept earlier this season- and the Great American Conference's own Southeastern Oklahoma State. The Jets are currently ranked 8^th in the ITA's south-central region, but have no singles or doubles teams ranked. The match is set for Saturday afternoon in Wichita.
 
No. 18 OBU boasts a 14-2 overall record and will roll into Kansas with a chip on its shoulder after dropping a hard-fought match to No. 15 Midwestern State last weekend. Rouxanne Janse Van Rensburg recently received NCCAA player of the week honors for the second week in a row and a third time on the season. She is ranked 36^th nationally in singles play as she and partner Kim Moosbacher sit 12^th in doubles. No. 2 doubles player Olivia Charvat is ranked 12^th in the central region.
